My name is Tyler Marraffa, and I'm a 22 year old West Chester University undergrad. This blog was created as a long term project for a writing emphasis course. I was allowed to pick whatever topic I wanted, so I couldn't resist writing about something I love. I am and always will be a gamer at heart. I've owned game systems such as far back as the Nintendo 64, SEGA Dreamcast and the Gameboy Color. My most fond memories are of kicking both my brother's butts in Super Smash Bros. for the N64 and completing Super Mario 64. My experience with gaming is vast; I've played games that were racing, puzzles, platformers, RPGs, open world exploration and first/third person shooters. Everything from arcade games to zombie thrillers. Not only do I play lots of games, but I consider myself a completionist. Unfinished games bother me, so at the least I finish the main story.
Video games bring joy to my life, and I want to share my experiences with others who enjoy them too. I believe people can appreciate how someone else feels about a game. Game's stories and the emotions that come with them can be relived through another individual's words. Sometimes it takes another person's opinion to think about a game in a new and different way. With that in mind, I try my best to convey the way I feel while playing; I try to describe situations in games and what was going through my mind at the time. The goal is to bring people back to a time and place, to let the nostalgia flow through them, and to get my personal opinion of a game across at the same time.
